Donovan McNabb is the face of the Philadelphia Eagles. The storied veteran is now in his 30s, but he’s almost as effective as ever. The team’s week one loss to the Carolina Panthers showed this, as McNabb lit up the field and beat the Panthers by a score of 38-10.

The Panthers almost made it to the Super Bowl last season and had one of the strongest finishes in the league. This was, of course, an impressive win, and both offense and defense played their part.

Unfortunately, McNabb suffered an injury during the course of the game. Such has been the case on many occasions in recent years, as McNabb is often criticized for being injury-prone. While most injuries usually involve his knees, this time McNabb’s ribs took their toll, as he fractured a rib during the game against the Panthers.

As a result, the Eagles were forced to play without their star quarterback during their matchup against the New Orleans Saints in Philadelphia in Week 2. The Saints are highly effective on offense, but their defense was just as competent when it came to to block the reinforcements. quarterback Kevin Kolb.

New Orleans easily won with a score of 48-22. The Eagles are now 1-1 in a very competitive division, where every win matters. Unfortunately, it looks like the team must be prepared to play without McNabb in Week 3, as early reports indicated that McNabb will not suit up for the team’s Week 3 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The team should be lucky to have such an opponent in Week 3, as a game they couldn’t win would present serious challenges down the line.
