If you look at the recent hurricanes that have devastated the United States and you didn’t have a flashlight, I hope you’re paying attention.
When you get advance warning about departure, then it’s time to pick up your “bug bag” as we call them. In that bag, there should be a “Survival LED Flashlight”. Why a special flashlight you ask? Here’s why they’re better than the old incandescent type.
- First, they will last a long time on a normal set of batteries. Compared to the old flashlights, the new survival LED flashlight will last for months compared to the days of the old style.

- Another good thing about these LED flashlights is their size. With a small size, it can shine a bright spot a football field away.
- Many of the late model survival LED flashlights have three modes of operation; click once for SOS signaling, click twice for strobe effect, and click again to return to normal operation.
