One of the most common health problems that most of us face at some point is a headache. Also known as headache, it is a problem that often made our days worse. It mainly refers to the pain we feel in the region of our head, due to altered pain-sensitive structures around our brain.

Headache usually ranges from mild to severe and can sometime be life threatening by being chronic. The most common form of headache is known as the tension type, which accounts for around 90% of cases (as mentioned on Wikipedia) and occurs due to spots on the head and neck muscles. If you’re prone to severe, recurring headaches, accompanied by other symptoms such as nausea or sensitivity to light, you may be approaching the migraine stage. This latter form of headache usually affects one side of the head and is more common in women than in men.

Symptoms and Associated Causes: To treat any physical disorder, the most essential action is to identify the nature of the disorder and the responsible factors. Tension headache, being very common, is accompanied by symptoms such as invariable pressure on both sides of the head, concentration of pressure on the eyebrows, mild and non-recurring pain, etc. On the contrary, migraine is usually more severe and recurrent. It is aggravated by activities of the daily routine, such as climbing stairs. Migraine can occur with aura (early indicative symptoms) such as nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light, or phonophobia in some cases.

Muscle tension, depression, anxiety, lack of sleep, incorrect posture, etc. are common causes of headache. Teeth clenching and alcoholic beverages can also trigger tension or migraine headaches. The exact causes are still unknown.
