Some time ago, when I was on vacation from my school work, I was googling some paintings and art stuff and then I found this really beautiful nameplate. It seemed to be quite easy, so obviously I thought I’d start it without giving a second. I have an idea how they did it.

First, take a wooden board of the desired size. Mix fevicol and Plaster of Paris in equal parts and then add a little water to make a paste to spread on the wooden board. Be careful not to add too much water, otherwise it won’t stay on the board and will continue to flow. Also, if it’s too thick, it can be difficult to apply and crack. Now put a thick layer of this mixture on the board and spread it everywhere. Now give it some texture of your choice. You can use your fingers, a spoon, a scale, a pen, or anything else to add texture. You can make spirals, stars, circles, rhombuses or anything you can think of. Now let it dry completely for a few hours or it can be a full day. This is necessary because without drying you would not be able to do the following steps. Now paint the base with acrylic paint of your choice. Make it as colorful as you want it to be or as simple as you think it should be. And now it’s time to decorate this stuccoed board. Make some small flowers and leaves with m-seal and stick them on the board. You can also use some dried flowers or potpourri to decorate the board. Also make some small curls or stems and place them next to the flowers. There is no need to use fevicol to glue these things made with m-seal, since m-seal would stick only when it is still wet. Make Ganesha’s face as you can see in the image and put it in the top center. Leaving a space of a few centimeters, put two lines each of m-seal. Let dry and once the m-seal hardens you can paint it.

Although in this image everything seems to be made of m-seal, you can also try using other things like dried flowers, ready-made Ganesha and whatever you fancy. Be creative and try something.

Have fun doing it.
