Sometimes a bit of fantasy is needed to help us understand that the conflict between different religious beliefs in East and West has reached critical proportions.

“Stretched across the vast ineptness of my soul, I see the ever-present temptation of resurrection. I can bear new beginnings no longer. Can’t you see how vague our horizon is? Doesn’t the glare of humanity’s failure tear you from your thoughts of a better tomorrow? Glorious, my hot-tempered Magical Genius brother, where are we in the cosmic subject of things? What is left for us to do? Do we hope to find it in the future?”

“My old friend Gali, my magical soul mate, my Magical Genius brother, you are as always the philosopher of the old world. We can try again. We can seek a better time. We have less than nothing else to do. We can put our minds together and deduce a new beginning, if not the beginning, then at least not the end of humanity. Let us unite our purpose and share the stores of our hearts and minds to restore what is possible. God will guide us.”

“I see nothing but Glorious shadows. My thoughts are too dim for a meeting of our minds to do any good. Alas me! Where has all the magic gone?”

“You have left us at the gate of a new beginning, my dear friend Gali, if we can find our way. We must try again. It is God’s will.”

“But they are all gone Glorious, all our friends, their culture, their very humanity. We cannot hope to resurrect civilization with our own shaky salvation.”

“I guess there’s nothing left for Gali to do but have faith. What else is left for us?”

“Maybe you’re right Glorious. What else can we do but have faith. I’ll try again with you. Come, join your thoughts with mine and we’ll try to start anew. Together we’ll resound as one voice, one thought in our God-helped attempt to resurrect humanity.”

“That’s the Gali spirit. After all, we’re just free spirits.”

“This mind meld must be working Glorious. You’re starting to sound like me.”

“And you, Gali, are beginning to think like me. Isn’t that wonderful? Together we will find the power for humanity’s salvation, and maybe even our own redemption. I can feel it, can’t I? The old magic is returning. A new future is brewing. May we find a better way to be the guardians of civilization this time under God’s good grace. May we start anew.”

“Can you sense it Glorious? Can you feel the strength returning to our spirit? Can’t you see the valley of despair rise up? Where shall we begin, my old friend?”

“We must begin before the final Gali bombs fall. We must go back in time. We must change the ending to find a new beginning.”

“I see, if it were ever like that. Can we make this Glorious?”

“Do we have a Gali option? What are you waiting for?”

“They are waiting for the final instructions Glorious. Here in the frozen Tundra of Siberia they are waiting for the order to drop the final bombs that will end the world.

“Where will Gali’s orders come from? What can we do to stop them? What are they fighting for?”

“They are fighting for different ways of life. They are fighting for religious principles. The orders will come from bunkers buried deep in the earth far from here, where men of fanatical efforts will give the orders. We can only stop them if we can show them that there is no one right way. We must show them that there has to be a better way than destroying humanity to prove whose way is right. This friend is not on our side. We will have to split up. You must go West. I will go East. We must get them to withdraw.” “Hurry up. We’re almost out of time. They’re about to destroy the world. There will be nothing again: no humanity, no civilization, no hope for the future. I don’t think God wants it that way.”

“How will I know what to say, Gali?”

“Remember we are of one glorious mind. We will know each other’s thoughts. We will speak as one mind. Hurry, we must find a better way. God will give us the words.”
