Design is one of the factors taken into account to differentiate phones from their competitors. So with this as a guide, does the China made 9800 stand out or fall by the wayside?

The 9800 phone sports an unfortunate product model nickname. In this case, the phone implies that it is supposed to be based on the Blackberry 9800. In this case, however, the manufacturers deviated from the standard Chinese copy formula and created a semi-original design phone. In fact, you could almost say that it looks good?

Here are the basic specifications of the 9800 made in China.

At 9mm (0.35in) thick, it is one of the slimmest phones ever launched in China.
Input is via its full QWERTY keyboard with raised keys, but the display does not support the touch screen.
Including the battery, the weight of this phone is 115 grams.
The total measurements are (LxWxH) 113x56x9mm.
The screen size is 2.2 inches, has a resolution of 240×320 and is made in TFT.
This phone is unlocked, with access to any of the 4 GSM bands.
Dual SIM card ports, including dual standby, are integrated.
It is constructed of CE standard PCP plastic for its outer shell.
Internet access from phones using WAP 2.0 and GPRS.
Battery life in standby mode is 70 to 90 hours in standby mode.
More programs or games can be installed by downloading and installing Java applications on the Java platform.
Extras include: a camera, a camcorder, an e-book reader, an analog TV receiver, an FM radio, and an MP3 and MP4 player.
Multimedia includes: MP3 player / MP4 player / camera / digital camcorder / e-book reader / TV with analog reception / FM radio.
It comes bundled with a leatherette sleeve that includes an additional battery to extend battery life by an additional 20 hours in standby mode.

So here are some of my thoughts on the pros and cons of the China 9800 phone.

Pros
The design is honestly impressive with well rounded edges, a very slim profile, and a weight that is close to zero.
Both to protect the phone and to extend battery life, the included phone case is a good deal.
The pre-installed apps are useful and nice to have, and with the ability to add more, the phone can potentially have a lot of additional features.
Although it lacks flash, the operating system is very well built and very easy to use.
The QWERTY keys are lifted from the phone and are easy and intuitive to press.
You might assume that a phone that looks like this would be much more expensive than its $ 73 price tag.

Cons
Not having access to faster Internet options (3G or EDGE) means that browsing is slower than many people would like.
The screen would have been much better if they had enlarged the size a bit.

This phone, although named after the Blackberry 9800, is going in its own direction in terms of design, and it managed to be quite an attractive and very useful phone.
