Family camping is a great way to have a fun vacation any year. This year, however, it is even more popular than usual due to our failing economy. Many families struggle to get by, pay their bills, and maintain a decent lifestyle. Many people have decided not to take a vacation because they can’t afford it. Others, however, have decided that vacations are critical for their family, and have discovered that they can still be enjoyed quite a bit without spending a lot of money. That is why camping is gaining popularity.

A family of any size can easily camp outdoors for little to no money. There are many remote locations in the United States that can be used as temporary camping spots. And there are plenty of state parks and national forest areas where you can camp, too.

The camps are quite safe, often offering various amenities such as showers, toilets, and even electrical hookups. In most cases, you can stay in a camp for two weeks and the cost is only $10 or $15 a night. Compared to the cost of a hotel, if the least expensive you could find while on vacation is the minimum of $50 a night, this is a drastic savings, especially for families.

There are also many different ways to take your family camping. If you already own an RV or RV, for example, you can simply choose from the wide variety of campgrounds designed for those camping vehicles. There are many private and public campgrounds that can be used by families using a camping trailer. State parks and federal forest areas also allow camping trailers to remain in their campgrounds. However, using a camping trailer is a bit more expensive, especially if you want to have electrical or water hookups.

Tents are also gaining popularity. This is particularly the case when it comes to family camping, because for just a one-time cost of $100 or $200, you can buy a good-sized tent that can be used for many years. Camping in a tent is also more enjoyable, because families tend to talk to each other and interact more with each other, since they are not distracted by modern conveniences and electronics.

When the weather is nice, especially in the summer, you don’t even need a tent to go camping. You can simply take blankets and sleeping bags to a remote area and camp under the stars. This gives your family the opportunity to get away from the hectic everyday life of the city, allows everyone to leave the daily stress behind, and provides an excellent opportunity for everyone to spend time together and have fun.

So if your family is feeling the financial crisis of the present times, consider taking them on a simple primitive camping trip for your vacation this year. The memories of that simple inexpensive camping trip will last a lifetime.
