Mucinex 1200mg
Generic Name: Mucinex, an inhaled corticosteroid. It is available in the class of mucilaginous injectables and is used primarily in the treatment of asthma; bronchitis; coughing and belongs naturally to the mucilaginous drug category expectorants. It is not contraindicated during pregnancy. Mucinex 1200mg is not a regulated substance under the Controlled Substances Act.
The recommended dose of mucinex 1200mg are two to four times daily for adults over the age of 40 years with mild to moderate asthma and should be repeated daily if the symptoms do not disappear over a consistent period of time. Mucinex should not be used by pregnant or breastfeeding women. Children and adolescents should only receive this medication on a physician directed medication schedule. If you take an NSAID, such as aspirin, ibuprofen or said, while taking mucinex, it may cause a serious condition called “nitrate pneumonia” – a dangerous condition that can be fatal. Do not use any NSAID while taking mucinex.
The recommended dose of mucinex 1200mg once daily is for mild to moderate asthma and is usually effective in most individuals. However, certain individuals may have an increased risk of side effects when using this medication. This includes individuals with hypoglycemia, liver disease, liver problems, kidney disease, and cystic fibrosis. Individuals with respiratory disease, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, should also avoid taking this medication while concurrently using pephrine-based decongestant drugs, such as Advair or Serevent, to control their asthma. If an asthma attack occurs while using this medication to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, the patient may experience severe and life-threatening chest pain.

To prevent this from happening, individuals diagnosed with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) should not use mucinex while on this medication. Those individuals who suffer from severe allergies should also avoid using mucinex nasal sprays. Allergy symptoms can include itchy eyes, sneezing, and watery eyes, along with symptoms that cause difficulty breathing, coughing, and wheezing. Individuals with bronchial disease or those who smoke should also avoid using this medication to treat their condition.
Individuals with sinus conditions should not take mucinex nasal spray. Some of these conditions include chronic rhino sinusitis, which causes inflammation and swelling of the lining of the sinus cavity. Other sinus conditions include post sinusitis syndrome, which can occur several weeks or months after a bout of acute sinusitis. This condition involves swelling of the linings of the sinuses, as well as chronic ear infections. In these instances, individuals should contact their primary care physicians, as certain treatments may not work. Individuals with a history of nosebleeds should also avoid using this medication.
One of the most important things an individual needs to know about mucinex nasal sprays is the potential side effects they may have. Some individuals experience mild side effects such as sore throats or headache. These side effects can subside once the medication is stopped. Other common side effects include headache, nausea, itching, nasal congestion, and throat pain.
