Cookies are one of America’s number one snack foods. I would have a snack attack and the first thing I would want is something with chocolate. It had to be chewy and satisfying. I don’t know a person who doesn’t like chocolate chip cookies. I love baking homemade cookies for my children. Walking in the door from a long day of school to the smell of mom’s freshly baked cookies fills their hearts with joy.

I hope you enjoy my recipe and keep it in your hearts for many, many years to come.

What do you need:

Stick butter or margarine softeners.

¾ cup white sugar

¾ cup brown sugar

2 eggs

11/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

21/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon of baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Turn your oven on to 350. Grease your cookie sheet or use a nonstick cookie sheet. In a bowl, mix together the white and brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, and butter. Stir until creamy with a fork or whisk. Add flour a little at a time and stir. Add the baking soda and salt and a little more flour and mix well. Gradually keep adding and stirring the flour until there is no more in the bowl. Last but not least, add the chocolate chips. Mix well. Go ahead and try your cookie dough. Isn’t it just delicious? Hmmmm!

Using a teaspoon, scoop out some cookie dough and place them an inch apart on the cookie sheet. If you want your cookies to be larger, scoop out a tablespoon of cookie dough. Let them bake between 10-12 minutes until they are golden. Let them cool and enjoy! You can top them with a scoop of vanilla ice or enjoy them with a nice cup of hot chocolate.
