The strength of a go kart’s frame is the underlying factor for the base of your go kart. So you really can’t avoid this look. The other name used for this frame is chassis. The utility of this chassis is that it makes the tire firmly grip the ground. So it helps you to assemble it in a quick and comfortable way.

This chassis is made of steel and is generally fixed to the axles, and strongly supports the kart. The chassis works exactly like the suspension on a car. As you run, you may have to make several turns. So for this reason you need a strong, flexible and durable frame.

There are mainly 4 types of go kart frames found in the market. These shapes of frames are generally used on different types of karts and they are open, caged, straight and offset. In the case of caged frames, you will find a roll cage that helps you avoid all kinds of accidents. It also reduces damage.

While the open frame is not as strong as the caged one, so it doesn’t get much use. Straight frames are those where the driver sits in the middle. These frames are usually seen in the sprint type.

In the offset frame, the driver sits on the left side of the kart. These types of frames can be seen in speed races. These frames are made in such a way that in any type of left turn this chassis will not break and will grip the ground strongly.

Not all types of go kart frames are suited to all types of tracks. Just like for the dry court, you need to have a rigid frame. But the level of stiffness in the frame should not be too high as it tends to break.
