Honestly, I’m not entirely sure what to say to people who ask me how they can quit their job and earn a living from home. It’s a loaded question: the answer I often give you isn’t always what you want to hear.

The question about working from home is really tied to the goal of working less and making more money. The idea of most people is to stop working and start earning. Unfortunately, I usually focus on keeping his day job while he starts earning and creating his passive income.

It is possible to earn income while holding down your day job, the challenge is to stay focused on one stock at a time and be consistent before you start moving onto a totally different path to making money.

If you work to understand and apply what the experts are currently teaching, you’ll find that it’s often a life-changing event that requires a new way of thinking. Even if you don’t achieve the ideological goal of making $1 million a year, you can create a lifestyle in which you are quite comfortable earning $5,000 a month. Let me put it another way, 95% of the world’s population would consider earning $5,000 a month in passive income by being wealthy.

As you embark on this journey to learn how to create a new way of earning an income, you will be faced with many distractions and general negatives in your life (both professional and personal) that will take you offline and you will live a better and more fulfilling life.

Whenever I meet an entrepreneur, they always seem to be convinced that the only way to make money in business is to hit a home run, open a giant store or corporation, hire staff, etc. That way of thinking is archaic and does not fit with the new future thinking of the new wave of entrepreneurs emerging in today’s market.

The Holy Gail is kind of a new way of thinking, the precious treasure that has been presented to us in terms of using its resources and taking advantage of them. If you currently have a job, consider yourself lucky. Use this to your advantage to build your income empire. When I first started on my income path, I felt like I had just been given access to an extremely valuable treasure.

I wasn’t sure if I should spread the word right away or just take the advice and start working on myself. I did both, but of course, people get annoyed when you try to evangelize “how to create passive income while holding down your day job.” Sometimes people really don’t want to be upset or don’t believe you. Sometimes I think they don’t want you to succeed as this would be a reminder of how they themselves are not succeeding.

There is also a problem with the phrase “self help”. Every time we read nonfiction, isn’t it all technically self-help? What is the purpose of us reading a book? We’re all there to learn something, and unless it’s a fictional book that’s just for enjoyment, usually even reading a Benjamin Franklin biography, you’re looking for some kind of insight and wisdom from someone who’s done something great. From this perspective, Aristotle, Plato, and Seneca are all self-help. Sure, there’s a lot of fluffy self-help out there where people are just trying to sell their products. But it’s important to note that the category extends much further than most people realize.

Lots of things I started getting interested in a few years ago, like taking supplements to increase my focus at work, be more productive, learn a new skill, or create a plan to do a side business.

Now, can anyone really make a living online? If you think the answer is no, then you don’t know much about the Internet. Let’s take a simple example, writing an eBook. The economies of scale in an eBook are amazing, because you only have to write it once. From there, you can earn royalties daily while you literally sleep. There are millions of ways to generate passive income, and once set up correctly, you may only need to work one hour, five hours, or 10 hours…or no hours a week.
