Feelings of depersonalization (brain fog) can lead to frustration and anxiety if one is not fully aware of the correct approach to permanently eliminate this persistent anxiety symptom. By using the proper steps towards recovery, one can not only extinguish the intrusive symptoms, but also ensure a complete and permanent solution to this problem.

Enforcing a defined routine and schedule on a daily basis is essential to really boost progress in overcoming anxiety-related depersonalization (brain fog).

Once you start taking responsibility for your own recovery, you are no longer a victim. Understanding is an important part of recovery, and knowing without a doubt that depersonalization is the product of a fatigued mind, due to constant fearful worry, is the first step. When one indulges in the strong habit of internal thinking, thoughts begin to circulate in a very unproductive way. This only further exhausts an already tired mind. Thoughts come at a slower pace and focus is difficult. Simply reading a book becomes difficult, and overwhelming exhaustion replaces normal energy levels. Anxiety also enters the picture due to frustration.

It’s also important to remember that you’re not tired from lack of sleep but from a constant habit of thinking about yourself that actually starts the moment you open your eyes in the morning. One can become so adept at this habit that one can simultaneously do tasks and worry, which only leads to further exhaustion. They are thinking deeply, as if they are studying a book, only this time they are studying themselves continuously and intensively.

That is why it is important to enforce a firm routine and schedule that must be followed daily without fail.

In adopting this structured routine, one must firmly adhere to these steps on a daily basis:

1. Get up at the same time each morning and immediately get dressed and eat a nutritious meal based on lean protein, good carbohydrates, and good fats. A decaf drink is also a must.

2. As soon as you finish your meal, it is essential to get outdoors and engage in a daily routine of moderate exercise of walking, bicycling, swimming or running. Outdoor activity is of the utmost importance as one is in fresh oxygen and light (even on cloudy days). Compensate for inclement weather by dressing appropriately.

3. After this exercise regimen, one should promptly engage in a major race or project. Goal setting is essential. If not in a career of choice, then one should aim towards this:

a- Attend school with this purpose and goal in mind.

b- Work in a position that lends itself to the final goal of the career.

c- If there is no work available, volunteer work is an acceptable alternative (only in the daily, scheduled routine). Sticking to a schedule is essential.

4. On weekends and nights, spend time with other people who share your interests, such as:

– music

– Art

– writing

– Sports

– any interest that you like to communicate and do.

5. When you are with the family, enjoy conversations, instead of retiring to your room, only with thoughts. Listen, hear and respond to others throughout the day and night. Participate and get involved.

6. Get lost in something with others, like a project or interest. This type of experience gives you little time for inward thinking. Time flies and your mind gets the break it needs to rejuvenate. Every moment you don’t indulge in inner thought, your mind is refreshed, rejuvenated, and healed.

7. Once again, listen to others, listen and respond. Focus on what they say at work, home, and socially. If you are alone, focus on a book you enjoy, find a hobby or a recreational sport. Find games that challenge your mind in a good way or learn to play a musical instrument that will train your mind to focus once more. The goal is to stay out of your own head, out of the habit of internal thinking.

In essence, you are retraining a worried and fearful mind and breaking the habit that leads to feelings of depersonalization (brain fog), which also leads to increased anxiety. By learning to refresh your mind, along with the right eating plan and thinking habits, you will clear the brain fog and once again experience complete clarity in thought and life.

There are no drugs to achieve this recovery because you are not sick. This stubborn anxiety habit will respond well when addressed correctly and followed through in a very specific way. You will be pleasantly surprised to notice the dramatic change in the way you feel and react once this recovery method is applied.

Learning to retrain the brain through behavior modification and proper nutrition/diet plan implementation will ensure a quick and permanent recovery, without fear of a future recurrence.
