Bets

When betting, you face other horse bettors, not the track. Payouts are based on the amount of money wagered on each horse. Odds change as bets are placed. The more bets that are placed on a particular horse, the lower the odds. The first published odds are called the “Morning Line”, which is an informed guess about how the public will bet.

Place your bets

If you are unfamiliar with how to bet on a horse race, there has been a big change added to the sport in recent years. It’s no longer just about betting $ 2 on a horse to win, place, or show. Here’s an explanation of some low-cost combo bets you can make:

Win: bet the horse will cross the finish wire first

Place: bet the horse will finish second

Show: bet that the horse will appear in third place.

On the other side of the board: bet on the knight in the final three positions. For example, the minimum bet for each is $ 2.00. The general bet is $ 6.00.

Exacta Straight – Bet that two horses will cross the finish line 1st and 2nd in the exact order.

$ 1 Exact Box – choosing two horses to finish 1st and 2nd in any order. Total bet $ 2.

$ 1 Trifecta Box: Choose three horses to finish 1st, 2nd and 3rd in any order. Total bet $ 6.

$ 1 Superfecta Box: selecting four horses to finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th, in any order. Total bet $ 24.

$ .10 Superfecta Box (ten cents): Same as the $ 1 Superfecta, except that the winning payment will be one-tenth of the $ 1 payment. For example, if the country of $ 1 Super $ 2,000, the store hundred Super will pay $ 200. Not a bad bet at only $ 2.40.

Overtime – 3, 4, 5 or 6 Overtime bets are also available where you can choose the winners of certain consecutive races. If you are lucky, you can win thousands.

Where to watch and bet

All of the area’s race tracks simultaneously broadcast the main tracks where you can bet and watch on the site, and at local OTB (off-track betting) branches where legal. If you prefer to watch and bet from home or from your smartphone, you can too. Unlike other forms of gambling, horse betting is legal on the Internet.

Handicap

Disability is a complicated process. If you’re interested in trying it out, here are some tips to consider when reading the show:

– Take a look at the older horses. They tend to work better than 3-year-olds.

– Horses must run at least once a month to keep fit.

– Check the jockey on current and past races. See if he has won before with your horse.

– Observe if the horse has run on this particular track before and would therefore be familiar with it.

– See if the horse has won past races at this distance before.

– Observe if the horse has won before in the same post position.

Learn to read and disadvantage the Past Performance Form (PP). This is the fun part of horse betting.

Finally, for fun, and perhaps for profit, play your hunches. You might see a catchy name or want to reproduce your birthday or anniversary dates. During the 2005 Kentucky Derby, my nephew and his wife bet exactly $ 2.00 on their wedding anniversary date of October 18. As the race came to the finish line, two long shots number 10, Giacomo and number 18, Closing Argument, crossed the finish line in 1st and 2nd place. Your profits? With a payout of $ 9,800!

If you’ve never bet on a horse before, get ready for a real adrenaline rush as you watch the fastest two minutes in sports!

Good luck!
