"Think and Grow Rich" A pitcher of Hooey?

That makes me laugh! Of course it’s not nonsense. I have made Napoleon Hill’s “Think and Grow Rich” a focus of study for the past several weeks. I’m sure you know that I am seriously in favor of the “law of attraction”. The information in this book fits very comfortably into my way of thinking.

If you like to come out of a good book feeling edified and forever changed for the better, I recommend reading this book which is the effort of a brilliant man who dedicated his life to collecting and compiling information on how to apply your mind to your actions for the benefit of Not just your business but your life.

He is an excellent illustrator of the laws of thought and relationship building.

I must say that it is the beginning of “Think and Grow Rich” that grabs me and keeps me reading… every time I read it.

I love the story of the man who decided he wanted to mine gold. He Made a claim and went to work and FAILED! However, the story is not ABOUT the failure, but about what he learned from that failure and how he applied what he learned to his life and how it facilitated his great success in the insurance industry.

The fact that he figured out how to learn from his big mistakes is important enough, but the most inspiring part for me was the last bit of advice: “Go to an expert if you don’t know what you’re doing.”

It’s just not a great idea to jump into a project when you’re a hobbyist and expect to succeed on your own. Question and expert. Observe the Master. Apprentice to someone who has already been through the learning curve and get ahead.

This brilliant book “Think and Grow Rich” has become an important part of my business life because of the enormous effect it is having on my entire life. Desire, determination and ACTION! Add to that the development of understanding people.

A very useful and fundamental lesson is to be smart and honest enough with yourself to know when you don’t know everything. And there is more

I’m using a direct quote from the book because I can’t think of a better way to say this:

“Thoughts that are mixed with any of the feelings of emotions constitute a ‘magnetic’ force that attracts other similar or related thoughts.”

There are many people reading “Think and Grow Rich” who come away thinking that all they have to do now is think the same thoughts over and over again from memory (without putting in any effort) and they will somehow magically become a millionaire.

That is absolutely NOT what that statement means.

Here’s the point: when you’re on the right track, you’ll start having one idea after another, and those ideas will help steer you in the direction that will lead to the realization of your goals. Following these inspiring thoughts that come to you leads you to reap the physical effects later on.

I am going to repeat this critical point because it is VERY important! Following these inspiring thoughts that come to you leads you to reap the physical effects later on.

You should have new ideas popping into your mind all the time. Epiphanies that build on and clarify your original goal and spark a momentum forward. Action is required on your part.

Now it’s your turn to search and think and get rich.

I’ll talk to you again later!
