Creativity lives within each of us. For those of you who think you don’t have a creative bone in your body, I’m going to disagree with you. I just think you haven’t found it yet.
Have you tried all the creative activities to see if there is an iota of enjoyment in them? I know a lady who thought the same of herself. She tried everything. Finally, she tried the painting class.
He found that he liked it.
He came back again and again. She got better. She began to feel an inner call to paint. She felt purpose for the first time in her life. Her painting teacher was amazed at her increasing skill level.
The interesting thing was that he was in his sixties. This talent lay dormant until she decided to try a few things. He is now selling his painting for thousands of dollars. She may want to give up the search for her creative self.
Give it another chance.
There is someone who is looking for that very thing that you can give to the world. However, you will have to start digging. I can assure you if you turn every stone. You will find something. It doesn’t have to lead to financial happiness.
The joy you feel will be right in your heart. You will have found happiness and those around you will also appreciate you. “But I’ve tried everything.” You may be thinking. I thought the same thing
So I started writing. I found a whole new world open to me. Freedom of expression. It’s not easy most days, but when I force myself to start, something inside me starts flowing. Which brings me to my question for you.
Have you ever given writing a chance?
I mentioned a story earlier in this post about a woman who discovered painting in her sixties. There is another story about a man who was diagnosed with a terminal illness. They gave him a few months to live. He took his pen and started writing because he thought it would be a good way to support his family when he was gone.
Six months passed. Then a year passed. She completed four books. He did not die. The books became best-sellers.
Sometimes we need to lean against the wall to discover what we love and then do it. My final suggestion to you is if you can’t find what you love. Do something creative until you love it. I can assure you that it will leave a lasting impact on those around you.
