Clothing accuracy in visual to visual adaptations

There have been many video games that have been adapted for film. With these adaptations, there is usually a main character who has a costume based on someone from the video game itself. Whether it’s the same character, a familiar face, or someone unrelated to you, how the person you focus on is important to the reception of the film adaptation. Some notable adaptations I’d like to see are Hitman and Assassin’s Creed.

In Hitman, the star of the show is a hitman known as Agent 47. 47 has appeared in nine games: Hitman Codename 47, Hitman Silent Assassin, Hitman Contracts, Hitman Blood Money, Hitman Trilogy, which is a re-release of the previous one. three, Hitman Absolution, Hitman Go, which is a mobile imagination game, Hitman Sniper, and a 2016 reboot titled ‘Hitman’. 47 goes on to give two movies to his credit with a few more to compare.

Both Hitman movies feature Agent 47, and costume-wise it’s hard to spoil it. What to look for are a bald head, a barcode tattoo on the back of the head, a black suit with a red tie and white shirt, and possibly two silver pistols. Timothy Olyphant from the 2007 film shows all of these. Rupert Friend from the 2015 movie also shows all of these. Easy disguise equals easy disguise precision.

In Assassin’s Creed, the main star tends to change between some games. The games and their respective main characters that I will see are: Assassin’s Creed’s Altair, Assassin’s Creed 2’s Ezio Auditore, and Assassin’s Creed 3’s Connor Keyway. The protagonists, although different people from different eras, share some qualities due to the group to which they belong. These attributes are white dresses with a hood large enough to obscure the face, long sleeves, flowy fabric down to the legs that are not part of the costume pants, and a retractable arm on the left arm. There has only been one movie in the series, but many games, so some comparisons can still be made.

Michael Fassbender plays the titular assassin in the film adaptation of Assassin’s Creed. The Fassbender costume contains black robes with a large hood, two arms, a flowing fabric down to the legs, and long sleeves. Of these top wardrobe options, the differences are in the color of the robe and the extra arm sheet. However, the arm blade difference can be ignored because Ezio contains double blades in most of his promo art. Costume accuracy is mostly covered, except for not wearing the traditional target. Adaptation is accepted.
