Candyman 2: Goodbye Meat (1995)

Candyman 2: Goodbye meat is a sequel to a 1995 horror film distributed by PolyGram Filmed Entertainment. It stars Tony Todd as The Candyman/Daniel Robitaille, Kelly Rowan as Annie Turant, Bill Nunn as Reverend Ellis, and William O’Leary as Ethan Turant. The writers are Clive Barker, Rand Ravich, and Mark Kruger. The director is Bill Condon.

The story takes place in New Orleans on the eve of Mardi Gras. Candyman returns when Annie Turant calls out to him five times in a mirror to prove to her class that he doesn’t exist. Shortly after, he appears to Annie and reveals that they share a special connection.

Unlike the first movie, candy man 2 reveals more about how it came to be what it is. If you’re reading this review, I’m assuming you’ve seen the previous movie and therefore know a bit about the Candyman story. Otherwise, we recommend that you skip this paragraph and continue with the next one. It is revealed that he had a name: Daniel Robitaille. A wealthy plantation owner hires him to paint a picture of his beautiful daughter. The daughter turns up pregnant and an angry mob chases Daniel until they catch him and cut off the hand he draws. They then cover his body with honey and watch him die as angry bees sting him. That’s what we know from the first movie. But we discover something else in the sequel and you will find that there is more.

As with many horror films, character names from past films are copied into the plot of the new films. There is no exception here. There is Annie, the main character. Her name may have come from the classic Hallowe’en. But that’s not all that seemed to give him away. her husband in candy man 2 his name is Pablo. As you may know, the character of Annie in Hallowe’en She has a boyfriend named Paul. Coincidence? I leave that for you to decide.

To wrap, candy man 2 it’s a worthy sequel and answers a lot of questions you might have after watching the first movie. I highly recommend it!
